Mid term Questions - Assignment ExampleOn the other hand, computer worms do non strike a specific victim (computer). Should this happen, a state(s) or mans civilization whitethorn retrogress by 200 years, into the pre-electricity era. Question 2 It is most likely that P2P software will be replaced by the new subscription sites such as Spotify. This is because, the fact that there are more than 22 gazillion peers who are connected to P2P file system is likely to attract a court verdict which is inimical to the use of P2P file sharing system. Court verdicts against high-profile file-sharing systems may in turn birth the emergence of technically more superior and sophisticated platforms. This is especially the case when expedited attempts to disable P2P file systems infrastructure are made. This orison is verified by the manner in which the shutting down of Napster changed file sharing, following a court verdict. Napster users did not deal file-sharing a coup de grace, provided onl y gave newer and more sophisticated platforms such as KaZaa and Gnutella a larger purview. KaZaa and Gnutella also experienced the same fate in Grokster v. Supreme Court, 2005. Question 3 Lakhani postulates that the reason why Facebook is bigger than its competitors in terms of connections is partly explained by Metcalfs Law. Originally formulated by Robert Metcalf (b. April 7, 1946), Metcalfs Law states that a telecom networks value is proportional to the square of the number of the number of users who have connected themselves into that system. To this effect, just as the value of every fax political machine increases with the total sum of fax machines in the network, the total number of Facebook users with and to whom every member may posts and receives documents increases. Because of this, the greater the number of users of a social online network (Facebook) is, the more valuable Facebook services become (Lakhani, 164). Question 4 Interestingly enough, in 2006, Second Life was the future and vice versa, but this is contrary to the present situation. about of the reasons why Second Life is not the future include technical lacunae moral gaps legal drawbacks and the failure to address security concerns. According to Kane, Robinson-Combre and Berge, the technical lacunae came in the form of Second Lifes failure to budget for server resources. This is a serious failure since Second Lifes virtual real estate as an online world that is owned and run by Linden lab is used by residents who need long-term in-world content which they own, have created or both. The crux of the matter herein is that both Second Lifes residents and Linden Labs users make money from the former, through trading, while exploitation virtual real estate. Thus, Second Lifes failure to budget for server resources would lead to serious legal implications which readily invited financial responsibility. For instance, the amount of stain a resident owned in a region specified the number of ob jects which may be placed in the region and the area in which they may be placed. Nevertheless, alternative region servers such as network bandwidth and CPU time are seldom budgeted in like manner and thereby bringing about problematic situations (Kane, Robinson-Com

Evaluating The Validity Of The PPP Hypothesis A Time Series Analysis Dissertation

Evaluating The Validity Of The PPP Hypothesis A Time Series Analysis Of The US-UK Exchange Rate - Dissertation moralAlthough significant coefficients in this regression seems to indicate that variations in the expenditure level antitheticalial lead to changes in the rallying measure, deeper inspection of the stationarity properties of the relevant series establishes that we veritable fail to find any evidence to support that PPP holds for the two countries under question. However since the time period covered is only of a victimize duration of 37 years, we conclude that this evidence should not be taken to be conclusive. It could still be the case that PPP holds in the long secede but what has been examined in this paper covers only the short run and during this period the exchange rate is at a perturbed state. Introduction The exchange rate is one(a) of the most important macro variables that have significant implications for policy of any open economy. It is therefore of primary importance to identify what determines the long run real exchange rate between two currencies for either of the countries involved. Additionally, given the state of other macro variables what should be expected of the medium and long term dynamics of the exchange rate for any given economy? That is, should it be expected to appreciate or depreciate over time? How does the nominal exchange rate prompt inflation? These are all critical questions can be answered using the Purchasing Power Parity (PPP) possibility. It is therefore critical to evaluate its data-based validity. The vital notion of the PPP shot is that the real rate of exchange between the currencies of any two countries is determined essentially by the ratio of the price levels of the countries in question. ... This is essentially the implication of the law of one price which postulates that the same good should sell at the same price in all markets because if different prices are charged then arbitrage will ar ise until the prices are equalized. Alternatively, the theory suggests that changes in real exchange rates are essentially impelled by relative price level changes (Froot and Rogoff, 1995). Now, there are absolute, relative and weak versions of the hypothesis and these are distinguished as follows. When the exchange rate is alone equal to the relative price level ratio absolute or hale PPP is said to prevail. If the variability of the exchange rate is caused by variations in the relative price levels, then we say that relative PPP holds. And finally, weak PPP is known to hold whenever changes in the relative price levels significantly affect the exchange rate. The reason that this theory has motivated a large number of studies and keeps on motivating new pursuits of empirically evaluating the PPP theory lies in the strong potential of the theory to have strong bearing on various policy aspects. For instance, an economy which has newly become independent can utilize this theory to ascertain its exchange rate. Forecasting macro-dynamics is critical for effective policy and this theory can be utilized to forecast the medium and long term exchange rates if it is found to be a valid determinant of the exchange rate. With this as the basic premise, in the present paper, we shall evaluate the validity of the PPP hypothesis as in its capacity of predicting real exchange rates. In particular, we want to evaluate whether the PPP hypothesis

INDIVIDUAL INTERNATIONAL INTERVIEW & PAPER Assignment

INDIVIDUAL INTERNATIONAL INTERVIEW & PAPER - Assignment ExampleIt lies at heart the latitudes 24 and 37 peak north and longitude 62 and 75 degree east. The country consists of five provinces - Baluchistan, Punjab, Sind, Khyber Pakhtun Khwa and Gilgit/Baltistan - and its capital is named Islamabad. Pakistan has one of the richest and most diverse cultures in the world. It is because this land had seen a number of invaders in the past including Whites, Persians, Turks and Mongols who had spread their own culture across this land. For this very reason we get to see diversity in culture through give away Pakistan with different ethnic groups having their own preferences when it comes to food, dressing, lifestyle etc. Increased globalization has brought further diversity to the country with Western culture increasingly being adopted by the muckle (Pakistan Culture, 2009). Ali himself comes from a Westernized background with many of his friends educated abroad, who love hanging out at international food chains and who openly drink. This defies my research since I found that alcohol was banned in Pakistan. But then there are so many things that are banned in the US excessively but still people do them. Religion shapes many of the Pakistans customs. ... Employment forms in Pakistan range from menial labor to jobs at multinational companies. The nominal wage per month of a Pakistani is Rs.10,000 (USD 100) and that is why many families live below the poverty line. Entrepreneurship has seen a rise in recent times and many people have switched to self created jobs. Induction of multinationals have brought good fortune to locals and created highly paid jobs. But people like Ali have moved out of the country for better job opportunities and better lifestyles. Since Pakistan is a developing country, the road network is not that of an international standard and is absent in much dissipate of the country. Public transportation through buses is the most common means of t raveling, with the slightly stable families using motor bikes and the ones economically sound use petrol and botch driven cars. Pakistan also has a sound air that connects cities and countries. Though a railway network is also present, the experience is not worth trying, says Ali. Infrastructure within Pakistan varies from city to city. From mud houses to high rises, one can find it all. The metropolitan city homes a number of high rises and is a safe abode for businesses and different activities. Recently a sky-scraper by the name of Centaurus and designed by a British architectural company was officially inaugurated in the capital city. These developments hold a brighter future for the countrys growth and economy. Pakistan is one of the two countries of the world, made on religious lines of Islam and that is what is practiced by the majority of citizens. Almost 98% of Pakistanis are Muslim while the remaining 2% are either Hindu, Christians or other minority groups. My research led me to believe that Pakistanis were taken by piety in every aspects of life but
